Bridget May Kilpela was born as Cindy Lynn Koss on August 30, 1960. She was the fifth child of five and all children were adopted through Lutheran Social Services in Michigan.  At 3 weeks of age she was adopted by Barbara and Donald F. Kilpela and moved to 16143 Salem Street in the city of Detroit. She was the 3rd of 3 children adopted into the Kilpela family and joined older brother Thomas David and older sister Paulette Joy. She was a beautiful baby with the largest blue eyes and sweet disposition.
At the age of 6 the family moved to Titusville, Florida when Dad got a job working at the Kennedy Space Center moving back to Michigan 2 years later settling in Troy.

Bridget made many friends all through her school years and was active in gymnastics. She attended Athens High School.

She married Gregory Callan in 1978 and they had 3 children- Gregory Jr, Daniel and Kelly.  Her marriage ended in 1982 and Greg passed away in 1984. She met Ron Murphy, they had Katie and Stacee together and settled in Sanford, Michigan. They were together 30+ years.

Bridget was an attentive and loving daughter. She cared for her Dad until his passing in 2005 and was the primary caretaker for her Mother until her passing in 2011.

She was grieving the loss of her Mother at the time of her passing. Her death was  sudden and unexpected. She was not ill however she did have physical challenges after failed operations in her past. She raised herself out of a wheelchair and even though she would deal with pain the rest of her days, she forced herself to walk and take care of her family.

She took special care of her Grandson Eysick who lived with her and Ron and she would never have wanted to leave him if she could have prevented it.

With a loving heart Bridget worked hard with Search and Rescue Volunteers in Sanford and was respected for her efforts. She never boasted or felt self important--only concerned when other families were hurting and as helpful as she could be.

The loss of her spirit and the sound of her laughter can never be replaced and as she leaves behind her family she also leaves behind countless friends and co-workers. She was an Angel on earth and now she is a Guardian Angel for so many. Even though noone was ready to let her go, may she rest and be comforted in the knowledge that she will never be forgotten...
